it's an animated gif. and not the spam variety that you might find on websites with rainbow gradients and music playing out of nowhere - but the kind where beautiful imagery is paired with smooth and carefully crafted animation, causing you to wonder why you've been staring so long at a photograph that isn't a photograph and a video that isn't a video. visual artist kevin burg teamed up with photographer jamie beck to create cinemagraphs for nyfw in 2009, and now have a neat little collection that you can check out over on their website.
